And the price of milk was...


The running season officially gets underway at the 28th running of the Shamrock Shuffle 8k/5mi. 30,000 runners cram the streets of downtown Chicago in the first major competitive run of the season.

I still have (in active circulation) a shirt from the 1998 Shamrock Shuffle, although I know I have older shirts somewhere.

My first competitive event was the Chicago Triathlon way back in 1989. At that time it was known as the Bud Light Triathlon.
At that time, it seemed like most major races were headlined by beer companies. At the finish chute you were handed your medal and a beer. Now you get bottled water specifically made for athletes and a banana.
